The 2009 StairClimb is dedicated to the memory of Jennifer Lynn Thanem (June 22, 1986 - August 6, 1999). For 10 years, Jennifer served as the Cystic Fibrosis Ambassador of the StairClimb -- since it first began. We miss her cheers and smiling face.

Make your way up the 56 floor vertical challenge. Each floor you conquer brings us one step closer to a cure for cystic fibrosis (CF). Climbers of all abilities compete in the timed race, which is categorized by gender and age group.
Free parking in The Tower will be available for participants arriving after 4:00 p.m. The garage opening is on Seneca between 2nd and 3rd Avenues. Safekeeping will also be available free of charge.
There are three ways you can participate:
TIMED INDIVIDUAL -- $80 ENTRY FEE
Climb all 56 floors. Entry fee may be paid by personal donation or by collecting pledges from sponsors. Entry fee must be received no later than Monday, Nov 30, 2009
5+ TEAM -- $80/team member
All team members climb 56 floors each. A team score will be given by adding all five times together. A team must consist of at least 5 people. Otherwise, times will be recorded individually. Entry fee must be received no later than Monday, Nov 30, 2009.
3-PERSON RELAY -- $195 ENTRY FEE
Three individuals divide the 56 floors, each climbing 19 floors. The first leg of the relay begins at the Start Line, the second on the 19th floor, and the third on the 38th floor. Times of each climber will be added together for a final climb time. A relay team must consist of no more or no less than three people. Otherwise, times will be recorded individually. Entry fee must be received no later than Monday, Nov 30, 2009.
CELEBRATE!
You've made it to the top! Climb aboard the freight elevator and make your way to the Atrium for the Happy Landings Party. Great food and drinks provided by BJ's Restaurant and Brewery and Red Hook Brewery will be awaiting you. Relax and get a massage, too! You earned it. |
